Biographic reference book "Kazakhstannyn halyk komissarlary" (“People’s Commissars of Kazakhstan”) prepared by the staff of the Archive of the President of RK was published.
During the 2001 - 2002 research, archaeologists
focused on excavations of the ancient settlement sites, located 12 km to the east of the city
of Uralsk, which they named Zhaiyk.
Necropolis Shopan-Ata is a monument of
architecture of IX-early XX century. It is located in 25 km to the north-east
from the village Senek of Mangystau region. It is divided into two parts:
Kazakh (Adai) and Turkmen
Akyrtas is one of the most mysterious monuments of
southern Kazakhstan. It is located 40 km east of the modern Taraz, 6 km south
of the railway station Akchulak, at the foot of the Kyrgyz Alatau
Town Merke, which appeared in the busy routes of
the Great Silk Road in the busy routes exists already many centuries in
foothills of Kirgiz Alatay.
In Altyn-Emel there are
unique natural features and monuments of ancient culture, objects of modern
eco-tourism in Kazakhstan. One of them is called “Singing Dunes”. It is very
rare, phenomenal landscape monument.
